Ingredients
- 8 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 cup milk
- 200g of unsated melted butter
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1 tsp mahlab (mahlepi)
- 1.5 tbsp baking powder
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 C.
- In a mixing bowl, pour the flour, sugar, mahlab, yeast, baking powder then add the liquid ingredients; oil, milk and butter.
- Work the dough with your fingertips, until the preparation becomes homogeneous. Let the dough rest for 2 hours.
- Form patties with the dough about 6 or 7 cm in diameter and 1 or 1 1/2 cm thick. You can use different molds to cut the shapes.
- On a baking sheet, arrange the patties and cook them for 15-20 minutes until they turn gold.
